Survey: Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) and other social media sites losing popularity in New Zealand

Businesses in New Zealand are less attracted toward social media as compared to a year ago, a new survey has claimed. Accounting software firm MYOB surveyed 1000 firms and  only a fifth of them now reported using social media, such as Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) and Twitter, down from almost a quarter in August last year. Stuff.co.nz reported that firms were under pressure to find the time for the latest online tools.

The report claims fewer businesses than last year had a social media presence, and used search engines to advertise their businesses or maintained a blog. In comparison, MYOB said businesses were more attracted toward using the internet for transactional purposes, such as buying from suppliers.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s price decreased in the last trading session with a previous 52-week high of $45.00. The stock was trading on above-average volume. The stock traded at a volume of 71.78 million shares at a price fall of -1.05%. The share price is now down -8.06% for the past three months. Latest closing price was -3.28% below its 50-day moving average and -18.30% below its 200-day moving average.

While trading at volume lower than average, MeetMe Inc (AMEX:MEET) dropped -3.98% yesterday. Its previous 52-week high was $5.47 and moved down -40.93% over the same period, trading at a volume of 163,157.00. Shares have fell -31.53% over the trailing 6 months. The stock is currently trading -23.30% below its SMA 50 and -25.12% below its SMA 200.

Over the last 12 months, for Renren Inc (NYSE:RENN) a return on equity of 0.38 percent was realized due to the financial situation and earnings per share reached a value of $0.04. Earnings are projected to move down -6.40 percent for the coming five years. The stock closed at $3.38, down -2.03 points or -0.07% from previous close and at a distance of -1.50% from 20-day simple moving average.

In the last trading session, Linkedin Corporation (NYSE:LNKD)’s price moved -3.16% below its 200 day moving average, changing hands as low as $97.40 per share. The stock is currently trading -12.16% down its SMA 50. The worst hit in its 52 week range is $55.98 per share, with $125.50 being the 52 week best price, which compares with a latest closing price of $99.26.
