Businesses in New Zealand are less attracted toward social media as compared to a year ago, a new survey has claimed. Accounting software firm MYOB surveyed 1000 firms and only a fifth of them now reported using social media, such as Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) and Twitter, down from almost a quarter in August last year. Stuff.co.nz reported that firms were under pressure to find the time for the latest online tools.
The report claims fewer businesses than last year had a social media presence, and used search engines to advertise their businesses or maintained a blog. In comparison, MYOB said businesses were more attracted toward using the internet for transactional purposes, such as buying from suppliers.
