For S&P 500, Earnings Season Is Going Well – APC, S, ANR, GE, F


The S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) is down today with companies to release quarterly earnings today include Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:APC) and Eastman Chemical Company(NYSE:EMN). Among significant movements Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) the most active stock and Southwestern Energy Company (NYSE:SWN) are up today while Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. Data provided by Thomson Reuters through Friday, there were 280 companies in the S&P 500 that have released financial results to date for Q2 2012 and out of those 67 percent have reported better-than-expected earnings. The average over the last four quarters stands at 68 percent.

General Electric Company (NYSE:GE)

GE (NYSE: GE) has installed the first 1,500-VDC open circuit central inverter for efficacy scale solar power plants, marking a latest technology landmark in the global effort to amplify renewable energy fabrication by driving down overall system costs. In mid day trading, General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) plunged -0.81% and closed at $20.76 with the total traded volume of 21.84 million shares.

General Electric Co has sufficient sales to rationalize the major U.S. conglomerate’s sponsorship by selling about $100 million of lights, power supplies and medical devices for the London Olympic Games.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F)
