Current mortgage interest rates moved higher Friday as capital markets moved from safe-havens to stocks. BofA, U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB), Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) and Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) all increased their conventional loan rates.
The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. reported a gain of seven bps to 2.99 percent for their 30-year 60-day required net yield (RNY) rate. The Federal National Mortgage Association RNY rate reached to 3.18 percent after an increase of five bps. The London InterBank Offered Rate (LIBOR), which is considered a common index for adjustable rate mortgages (ARMS), suffered a decline. The 6-month LIBOR showed no change and 1-year LIBOR rates declined 1.044 percent.
Banco Santander, S.A. (ADR) (NYSE:SAN) reported the gain of +3.78%, after disclosing further details regarding the IPO of its Mexican segment, and closed at $6.87 with the total traded volume of 7.35 million shares more than the average volume of 6.78 million. SAN has earnings per share of $0.88 and its price to earnings ratio stands at 7.85.
Shares of Barclays PLC (ADR) (NYSE:BCS), which plans to launch its discretionary portfolio management service (DPMS) and multi-manager range on all major platforms before the end of 2012, have gained +2.35% to close at $11.74 and its overall volume during last trading session was 2.18 million shares. The stock opened at $11.64 and its shares hit the day high price of $11.79 and day low of $11.60.
In its share capital, BCS has 3.06 billion outstanding shares while 2.81 billion shares have been floated in market. BCS has institutional ownership of 3.20%. Company’s current year earnings per share dropped -15.89% while the five year EPS growth rate was -19.22%.
In the last trading session, UBS AG (USA) (NYSE:UBS) jumped +1.59% and closed at $10.88 with the total traded volume of 1.89 million shares.
