The British government stated that it was cutting a number of regulations in the energy sector to encourage investments.

British Minister of State for Energy, Charles Hendry said over 100 regulations in the energy sector were being cut or improved by the state as part of a improvement plan meant to deliver as much as $620 million in savings for business during the next 20 years.
