BBC Reports Legal High Hospital Cases Advances Over 350% – (WAG, CVS, RAD)


The biggest health board in Scotland has disclosed a 358% advance in the number of youngsters requiring emergency treatment after taking legal highs, according to bbc.co.uk. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde reported there were 43 admissions in 2011/2012 from the the previous year’s 12. In various cases, patients only survived after critical specialist treatment.

The number was derived from Glasgow’s Royal and Western Infirmaries, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital and Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) said that the greater part of the 43 admissions, 30 men and 13 women, came from the 19 to 35 age group.
