Australian Banks No Longer Provide Home Loans On 100% – (WFC, C, USB, JPM, CS, SPWR)


Four years following the economic recession hit, Australian banks no longer provide loans valued at 100 percent of the value of the property, indicating that tighter lending standards continue to stay for borrowers. Financial comparison site RateCity released a report last week showing no Australian bank is offering home loans worth 100 per cent of the value of the property in the last three years.


Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC)
and its two strong competitors, U.S. Bancorp (NYSE:USB) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. made half of all U.S. home loans in the first half of the year, according to Inside Mortgage Finance, an industry publication. Only Wells Fargo was able to control 33.1 percent. In mortgage servicing, including billing and collections, four firms hold 50 percent of the business, and Wells Fargo is on top in that field, too, with 18.5 percent.

WFC was up +0.03% with the closing price of $33.83. The overall volume in the last trading session was 11.41 million shares. Stock hit the new 52 weeks high price of $34.80. It has positive year-to-date performance of +24.88%.

WFC has insider ownership of 0.01% with its institutional ownership remaining at 77.49%. Company’s current year earnings per share grew with 27.71% while the five year EPS growth rate was +2.71%.

Recently, Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) and Credit Suisse Group AG (NYSE:CS) signed a contract with SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWR) to back its residential solar lease projects valued at about $325 million.

The stock surged +0.14% and closed at $28.90 with the total traded volume of 25.28 million shares. Its shares were trading within the range of $28.35-$28.99. Citigroup has earnings per share of $3.45 and its price to earnings ratio ended at 8.37. It gained 0.56% return on assets and 5.77% return on equity.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) jumped +0.14% and closed at $36.97. Its total traded volume during last trading session was 15.49 million shares. It has outstanding shares of 3.80 billion with the total market capitalization of 140.44 billion.
