Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) announced on Tuesday that it unveiled nine new mid-range and entry-level AMD Opteron 4300 Series and 3300 Series server processors surging performance per watt against the earlier generation to maximize compute capacity in power-constrained environments, whereas delivering outstanding value to cloud contributors and web hosts.

The new series of AMD Opteron 3300 processors offer enterprise class features in a small power envelope at a desktop processor price, manufacture it perfect for web hosts and small and medium sized businesses.

While the other new series of AMD Opteron 4300 processors propose up to 15% increased performance against the previous generation, based on SPECint benchmark results. In addition, SPECpower results turned up to a 24% advance in performance per watt. As with the AMD Opteron 6300 Series processors, these are socket like-minded with the earlier generation processor, providing an effortless upgrade path for customers.

Server Business Unit of AMD’s General Manager, Suresh Gopalakrishnan stated that the Piledriver core architecture shared by the AMD Opteron 4300 and 3300 Series processors offers optimized performance, power, and price for today’s customer.

He added, these new processors are ideal for cloud providers, web hosts, and small and medium-sized businesses who desire to address their space and power limits.

With an easy upgrade, existing customers can get more performance to enhanced energy efficiency and new customers will get compelling value and ROI.

Company has announced on Monday its partnership with Ubisoft to carry the highly expected next section in the Far Cry franchise, “Far Cry 3,” releasing on Tuesday in North America.

Shares of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) rose +0.16 cent or +7.27% to finished at $2.36. The Beta factor was 2.25%.
